Industrial Safety

Our employees demonstrate consistently high preparedness for emergencies.

Industrial safety refers to the state of protection of individuals and legal entities, the environment, and infrastructure from the harmful effects of hazardous production factors. This definition is guided by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Civil Protection.” It is a recognized fact that any industrial activity carries a certain degree of risk of injury to workers and a potential threat to the environment and surrounding population.

Ensuring industrial safety holds critical importance for the oil and gas sector. The process of oil and gas extraction involves activities that demand stringent safety measures and continuous oversight of operations at field sites. A wide array of man-made risks also exists during the processing, storage, and transportation of hydrocarbons. For this reason, all operations require vigilant attention from the relevant services and unwavering adherence to safety protocols by all personnel engaged in the industrial cycle.

The safety of employees at HTS Exploration Ltd across all company sites is an undisputed priority of our corporate policy throughout all stages of production and business activity. All protective measures concerning the health and safety of personnel are strictly observed in accordance with legislative requirements of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Even under restrictive public health measures, scheduled emergency drills and response exercises continue to be conducted regularly at the company’s industrial facilities.

Routine exercises are conducted at the Zhanazhol oil and gas processing complex. These involve practicing the coordinated response of emergency teams in situations such as potential gas pipeline ruptures, depressurization of flange connections on source gas storage tanks (gas separators), and complications along inlet and outlet gas lines. Additional exercises address the containment of potential system and pipeline failures. At HTS Exploration Ltd’s field facilities, "alarm drills" and standard emergency preparedness exercises are carried out routinely. The frequency and precision of these emergency simulations highlight the effectiveness of our specialized personnel and reflect the company’s strong management commitment to fostering a high level of preparedness among all employees.

Theoretical knowledge in Civil Defense is regularly reinforced through structured exercises. These simulations include scenarios involving the operational transition of the civil defense system from peace-time readiness to an elevated alert status.

Specialists in civil defense and emergency management from HTS Exploration Ltd consistently participate in national-level command and staff exercises organized in the Astana region by the State Department of Emergency Situations. During these exercises, the regional rapid response unit—comprising a 50-person oil rescue team formed from multiple company divisions—is mobilized. This team reliably demonstrates high levels of readiness, advanced equipment, and operational competence necessary for responding to industrial and environmental threats in the Astana region. For their professionalism and excellence in these exercises, our rescuers have received commendations from regional authorities and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
